Grounding undersheet
For those seeking maximum longevity from a grounding sheet, we have developed our grounding undersheet, which uses high-grade (316L) stainless steel fibre rather than silver as the conductive element. It is a proprietary blend of ultra-fine stainless steel fibres, cotton, and polyester, resulting in a fabric with an attractive grey finish and a crisp yet soft, linen-like feel.Our fabric has 30% stainless steel content, high enough to provide excellent conductivity, yet low enough for a soft, comfortable feel. While the initial conductivity is not as high as a silver-based fabric, stainless steel offers a key advantage: it does not oxidise and lose conductivity over time. This ensures reliable grounding performance throughout the full physical life of the fabric, which should be many years.
The sheet measures 300cm x 90cm (118" x 35"). This is big enough to fit across the bottom half of any size mattress, with ample tuck length. The sheet can also be fitted length-ways from top to bottom, covering the whole mattress for one person. The conductive area is 200cm x 90cm (79" x 35") with a tuck under of 50cm (20") on each side.
We recommend placing it underneath a regular natural fibre top sheet. Body pressure and natural moisture from perspiration are sufficient to create a conductive path through the top sheet.
The fabric can also be used with direct skin contact, but note that stainless steel contains nickel. If you have a sensitivity to nickel, direct skin contact is not recommended.
A connection stud is positioned near the edge of the sheet for attaching the connection cord.
This set includes everything you need for use: the grounding sheet, a 4.6m (15ft) connection cord, and your choice of Earth connection.
Washing and care instructions for Stainless Steel grounding sheets
Regular washing is recommended. It will not be harmed by washing, in fact it is beneficial. Washing strips body sweat and natural skin oils from the fabric, helping to keep it optimally conductive.
DOs
Wash every week or two
Machine wash with warm water (40°C / 105°F)
Use a liquid laundry detergent (we recommend this detergent)
Line dry or dry in a dryer on low (up to 65°C / 150°F)
Can be ironed on a low heat if desired
DON'Ts
Do not use bleach
Do not use fabric softeners
Do not use dryer sheet fabric softeners
Do not dry clean
Fabric softeners can build up on the fabric and reduce its conductivity.
